cool_hand
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-23264052 A Dorset beach hut the size of a garage but without running water has gone on the market for £200,000. The leasehold property at Mudeford near Christchurch has four beds and a kitchen. BBC South Today's Steve Humphrey has been to meet the current owner, who is selling it after 10 years. I am under the impression the lease runs to 2029, surprised the BBC don't bother to mention that.

zugzwang
The BBC: Chasing the bubble, and master distractors since 1922. Wonder if they're lining up the Snows for another 'What Makes Britain Rich?'
@contradevian
Wonder if they're lining up the Snows for another 'What Makes Britain Rich?' I really hope so. Cos then you know there will be a crash (which will be totally "unexpected" at the BBC of course)

iamdamosuzuki
I love the interview with the woman 'Something magic happens when you are here..' Yeah, cash appears out of thin air - by the second. London, and I suppose by extension the South is in the grip of such a Japanese / tulip mania that it doesn't surprise me but I will make a bold claim. Whatever this sells for, it will never get near it again. **200k is 10k a year for twenty years - what would that get you in terms of really great holiday rentals? You forking mentalists. "something happens when you are here.. no television, radio.." no running water, pooing in a bucket or running to nearest MacD to spend a penny. And of course its a pair of deluded boomers trying to sell it. Edited July 12, 2013 by Secure Tenant

That's exactly the sort of mathematical and reasoning prowess that is ruining this country. Take the debt. It will make you happy.

It's the selling price that matters.
spyguy
200k get a yield of 4% = 8k/year. that abot 8 x 10 day all inc - food, booze, hotel, flights on the costas at the moment. Or you could rent a house in spain for 6 months over winter - sep - apr and feed yourself. That's why holiday in the uk are f-cked. Its just too expensive for too little good weather. food is too expensive.
