An Israeli man was shot and killed at the entrance to the Western Wall in Jerusalem on Friday morning, according to police.

Magen David Adom stated that a security guard shot an approximately 46-year-old Jewish man in the public restroom at the Western Wall after the man reportedly yelled "Allahu Akbar," Arabic for "God is great," and took an object out of his pocket.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the guard opened fire with his pistol because he suspected the man was a Palestinian terrorist. "The fact he shouted Allahu Akbar, that seems to be why the security guard drew his weapon and fired a number of shots at him," he said.

If he did as described then he would have looked like a suicide bomber about to blow himself up.

What else should the security guard have done?

Advance on him?!

I agree though, bit of a non-story.

Difficult to say! Saying "God is Great" in a Holy place is probably pretty normal! The fact that he chose Arabic was probably a dud choice!

I went to a Synagogue in Cairo once! The security chap asked me whether I had any guns on me! I didn't, as I am British!
