That's not much use in a UK shoe box flat.
cashinmattress
I reckon the first people to own these behemoths will be... Chavs.
interestrateripoff
Bargain. You need a mansion sized living room to have one of these, so from 2m away how much of the picture do you end up losing?
Bruce Banner
You don't have to be a CHAV to enjoy a large flat-screen TV.
interestrateripoff
It supports 3D broadcasts, has three tuners - allowing several channels to be watched at once This does amuse me.

I used have a 114" projector screen in a room 20' x 14', perfect size for that room.

cashinmattress
It supports 3D broadcasts Lol. 3D is getting phased out, with ESPN being the first big broadcaster to unload this ridiculous service. The rest will follow.

winkie
.....it is a bit disconcerting and overpowering to have heads in a room that are bigger than a normal sized human head. Edited June 18, 2013 by winkie
Guest eight
Each to his own. I've had a 3D TV for a couple of years and thoroughly enjoy it. I sometimes watch films on my phone. If they're good films I'll enjoy them. I doubt I'd enjoy Transformers in any viewing format even if you threw a night with Megan Fox into the equation. As for Blackburn Rovers vs. Crystal Palace in 3D..... christ, if I was there, I'd pay to get out.
cashinmattress
63 kg!!! Although the power requirements aren't heavy at 150 watts. By a good projection system if you insist on watching broadcast tele from 20 metres away.
The Knimbies who say No
Amazing things, not that my place could fit one. Is 1080p good enough for a set this big though?
interestrateripoff
Why? Are you technophobic? So you watch 3 TV shows at the same time? Have the football on along with the Soaps? You can't possible enjoy watching 3 shows at the same time.
cashinmattress
You can't possible enjoy watching 3 shows prons at the same time. Oh yes a lot of people can!

You can't possible enjoy watching 3 shows at the same time. Picture in picture could be useful for some people, Bloomberg in a small window whilst watching a film perhaps? Not a feature I'd use but it probably doesn't cost much to include. I would never watch football on a 90" screen....... nor on any other screen . interestrateripoff
Oh yes a lot of people can! With a screen that size I'm sure you'd be able to fit more than 3 on a time using it as a PC monitor... Although at 90" I think it might give a few a bit of a size complex....

Gigantic Purple Slug
If there wasn't any benefit in watching stuff on a massive screen, surely no one would go to the cinema. That said, 90" is a bit excessive, even for a big telly lover like me. The good thing is surely that ongoing developments will push prices down through the range. 50" screens in Sainsburys are looking well cheap. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2343501/Just-bought-new-TV-Its-date-HD--3D--forget-New-screens-15-times-sharper-mean-pictures-clear-real-life.html Edit : As usual the Daily Mail tells us what we need. I love the unit of diagonal TV screens being the John Cleese wearing 7inch top hat. Edited June 18, 2013 by Gigantic Purple Slug

Interesting, I guess people chasing 1080p mean these older type projectors go for a song, in relative terms these days.
winkie
It is not so much the size nowadays but how long they purposely factor in them lasting and what insurance product to run alongside to prevent another big ticket item cost or finance package at a pre determined time in the future.
