Will This Woman Get Her Accidentally Sold Wedding Ring Back?

Recommended Posts

http://news.sky.com/story/1103116/california-mums-diamond-ring-sold-for-10

A mother-of-five has been left devastated after her husband accidentally sold her diamond wedding ring for $10 (£6.40).

Racquel Cloutier, 31, was in hospital after the birth of her fifth child when her husband Eric decided to get rid of some unwanted household items at a garage sale.

But he was unaware that his wife had been storing her precious ring - worth around $22,000 (£14,000) - in an old watch box he decided to sell.

I reckon someone will be honest enough to return it.

Small feet though.

Very flexible though.

If she publicised the value as £500 and emphasised the sentimental value then I'm sure it would be returned.

Morally, there is an argument that the buyer should return the ring, which was supposedly sold by mistake.

Legally, the seller is reponsible; if they entered into a bad contract, that is their own hard luck.

Personally, I find it hard to have too much sympathy for anyone who would p*** away $22,000 on a vulgar trinket in the first place.

She is awfully good looking. Ex-cheerleader trophy wife?

EDIT: forgot the pic...

Is this before giving birth to 5 kids?

I was just wondering. 5 kids, beautiful wife (31), house, what looks like a Merc on the driveway, Los Angeles..

This source claims the husband is a pro poker player. Nothing wrong with that I suppose, just FYI.

The chances of the “shady” lady who reportedly bought the ring subsequently returning the item would seem pretty slim, and in the meantime Eric Cloutier, who has earned more than $550,000 from poker tournaments, says he is now considering heading to the World Series of Poker underway in Las Vegas.

Mmmm - smells of fish.

Surely she owned the ring as a gift, so he had no right to sell it.

Unless the ring was subject to a hire-purchase agreement. LOL.
