Anyone within fairly easy reach, do go and see the azaleas in the Isabella plantation in Richmond park. They are just about at their peak - vast masses and vistas of them, all different colours.

Free car park (Broomhill) between Kingston and Roehampton gates for the Isabella. Lots of bluebells too.

During the evening in the week, there's often hardly anyone there. Mr B and I encountered just one bloke this evening - he said 'It's like the eighth wonder of the world.' And no, he wasn't a sad old fart like us - probably only in his 30s.

R Park closes to traffic at dusk, so open relatively late ATM.
