Syrian government forces have used chemical weapons - probably nerve gas - in their fight against rebels trying to force out President Bashar al-Assad, the Israeli military's top intelligence analyst said on Tuesday. The assessment met with skepticism from the United States, which has declared any use of chemical weapons in Syria's two-year-old civil war a "red line" that could trigger intervention. Link

It's impossible to know the truth in this conflict. However, I find it hard to believe that Syrian troops, mostly lads on national service, would kill their neighbors. Syria was a tolerant nation before this started.

this isn't the one that will trigger the really nasty stuff.

what WILL trigger the nasty response will be when there are similtaneous explosions in most western capitals,plus the apprehension of quite a few known hamas and hezbollah operatives in mexico, working with the likes of MS13 in the narco-terrorism plot to flood the US with drugs(some even laced with known chemical agents).

hamas/hezbollah= syria's bitch

syria=irans bitch.

Israel is not supporting big conflict in Syria; it's been their most stable border for decades.

America can't fight a war there without a base of ops. Israel won't suffice, and Turkey is the only one with the port and geography to protect Yank assets..such as Iskenderun, and they aren't going play ball...yet.

However it pans out, somebody needs to wipe out all those 'rebel' nutjobs and mercs; be it Assad, Iran, Russia, or Israel with US backing.

Pipelineistan baby

The “Great Game” is being played out by two rival blocs in Syria. On one side stand the US, Britain, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, while on the other stand China, Russia, and Iran. Hence the following can be restated: “The Mediterranean has literally become an extension to the international and dangerous rivalries for control of Central Asian and Caucasian energy resources” (Nazemroaya 2007). Israel is also a player in this game. Not only does Israel have an interest in neutralizing Syria and de-linking it from Iran, it also wants a share of the Eastern Mediterranean’s natural gas

The dismemberment of Syria has been a long standing objective of the Zionists.

The Atlantic, in 2008, and the U.S. military’s Armed Forces Journal, in 2006, both published widely circulated maps that closely followed the outline of the Yinon Plan. Aside from a divided Iraq, which the Biden Plan also calls for, the Yinon Plan calls for a divided Lebanon, Egypt, and Syria.
