But normally the kids will destroy them within a year so they wont look like that for long.

Have a look: Modern Family Living Does anyone know any modern family that lives the way shown in the image ? Modern Family is an American sit-com. American sit-com houses tend to be enormous with lots of snazzy products placed in them.

Idea for TV show: Can we have a 1950s camp where we send people to discover what real poverty was like? That is not poverty.....those kids look like they were having a great time playing together, taking risks, communicating....none of this health and safety nonsense we have today that stops play....today they sit on their bums and exercise their fingers playing computer games eating popcorn and drinking sweet tooth rot drinks......families and communities were very close-knit and supported each other 'they were all in it together'....sure people were not so warm, homes were not so warm and there was not such a choice in food or consumer luxury products ....but there was far more freedom. winkie
Our housing stock has been crap for a long time. Pity we are not allowed to improve it. .....what do you think is more important crap parents, fear and a warm bed or a loving supportive but poor family and an eiderdown + newspaper.....then the kids can improve on what they have........if already at the top it is harder to maintain that lifestyle there is a far bigger drop when falling from the top.
