Payday Lenders Targeted In Labour Offensive

An overhaul of planning laws to prevent payday lenders, pawnbrokers, bookmakers and fast-food outlets from swamping high streets will be pledged by Labour today.

Payday lenders are taking advantage of the retail crisis to open businesses in town centres, tempting the unemployed and low-paid with loans at extortionate interest rates, Ed Miliband will warn.

Dear Milliband, instead of tinkering with the symptoms, why don't you address the root cause that makes payday lenders and pawnbrokers so popular?

By root cause I mean extortionate house and land prices that in turn cause high rents and therefore make life unaffordable for most people and drive up the costs of most legitimate businesses?

Preventing payday lenders from opening up shop will just push them to become doorstep lenders, as long as the root cause is still there!

Or is he simply trying to reduce competition for his bankster mates?

Labour can pledge whatever they like, non of it will ever materialise, the politics of the UK are a confidence trick to convince you that the next reps of the liblabcon will do something other than maintain the status quo, the continuation of policy which will never be in your best interest. This country is run by land owning, super rich politically correct elites, governed by non elected EU bureaucrats and bankers who have too much invested in keeping land and housing costs out of the reach of the common person, they profit from it and it will never change by the ballot box.

No political pledge is subject to legitmate expectations.

No, that's again just a countermeasure to a symptom of the root cause.

The real root cause is extortionate house and land prices.

Well having just watched his speech he seems to think we need more tax credits to help with the cost of living.
