Ridiculous question about the employment of people you know socially. All the perceived middle-class occupations are there, solicitor, teacher, doctor, etc, but almost no working class ones. Lorry driver is there, but no mechanics, engineers, fitters, designers, etc.

And what about carers. That's a job now. a friend of mine has given up work to care for his father-in-law with dementia. Doesn't that count?

Drivel.

I think all the ones you list come under "cleaner".

The other thing that appears strange on this is the number of clearly middle class people that fall into the 'Elite' category.

If the 'Elite' are people who earn £100k+, have £100k+ saved and a £500k house, where do what we previously call the 'upper class' fit in? They probably have ten times those amounts from inheritance and would have little in common with the wealthier end of the middle class.

The Beeb couldn't possibly make a separate category for those - that would be Elitist. ;)
