BuyingBear
I'm not convinced, maybe it's a halloween thing, we've seen it before with many of his ilk you think they're dead and gone yet they leap back into life, the madisonian now stalks the unwary in dark and misty European lands. bears all
Blunkett made too many mistakes. Impossible to believe the PLP don't have anyone who could be Work and Pensions Secretary without, oh, fast-tracking nanny's visa, failing to consult about directorships etc etc. Get back to Sheffield, Blunkett, and let someone else have a go. Can I throw in a few free train tickets and a few stock options to boot? Blair is now firmly in John Major lame duck territory, does anyone remember the name of a certain minister who was involved in dodgy share dealing and going with women of easy virtue (I know, so many), does the name Archer ring a bell? Look what happned to him! He inflicted the world with god awful novels. I think Blunkett can thank Channel 4 for kicking this off.

zuzuspetals
One of the reasons for Blunkett’s status in the Labout party is that he was born into real hardship, a qualification which is much less common in the Labour Party than it once was. Not only was he blind from birth, he was also no-joke poor, brought up on a Sheffield council estate in a two-bedroom house with his parents and grandfather. These experiences gave him a knowledge of deprivation increasingly rare in contemporary Britain, which in turn gave him authenticity. Even people who didn’t like his views could tell, when he talked about his ASBOs, or about poverty in general, that he at least meant what he said. To some extent, it is a class issue. Many in Labour are Chianti-quaffing Islington lawyers who have the time and money to discuss human rights over dinner at Frederick's. Blunkett is, at heart, a working-class boy who thought legal niceties are irrelevant to those plagued by graffiti on a council estate. I’m no longer a Labout voter, but I liked Blunkett. A shame his personal life is such a mess.
Roman Abramovitch
This was telegraphed a few days ago when The Prime Minister,Tony Bliar said"Mr Blunkett has my support" Please give your kiss of death to Gordon Brown(the silent Chancellor)

non-FTBer
So do you think they'll actually throw him out of his paid residence in London this time?? That might be a good indicator of whether he'll be back
BusBuilder
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4398004.stm A good result but for every crooked politician (parasite / pigs at the trough / lining their own pockets etc) that resigns it seems like we have ten more lining up to take their place. It is a very tempting gravy train and unfortunately the sort of person drawn to political life is the sort of person who will become corrupted by the temptation - we see it time and time again. It is a feeding frenzy that we are all paying for. Politicians from all political parties are guilty of it - no exceptions.
Guest Bart of Darkness
Ok, chaps - sweep-stake on how long before he's back????? Any takers?? 2 years. (Longer than last time anyway.) The sheeple soon lose interest in such things. Now if he'd somehow reduced Corrie to 2 episodes a week, they'd never let him back!
