So firstrung says that the last pattinson auction was sensibly priced

Hmm

These were going for £500 cash in 1993 and you really didn't want to go anywhere near the area if you had a car that moved or had wheels.

Mind this is supposedly a local prostitute haunt (thanks to sunderland Drug Rehabilation for that gem)

http://www.pattinson.co.uk/Public/Modules/...?property=47303

so you should be able to cover costs there

and finally

I can't remember whether Blyth or Newbiggin is the cheapest place for drugs in the UK. It usually rotates from one to the other depending on who is out of jail but either way its not the nicest place.

I guess the purpose was to suggest that the auctions are virtually finished as a boom place in this economic cycle and that auctioneers generally put low reserves on each lot to get the party started. I don`t think I`ve ever seen such a dramatic turnaround in sales as at the auctions, the one nearest me, Venmores, couldn`t get enough property a year or so ago. It`s been very poor in the last two sales 40-50% unsold. The buzz has gone, I reckon it reveals a lot about the current state of the market.
