Now the Games are over, the Olympic Park is set to re-open in 2013 and more than 8,000 homes will hit the market. I'm not sure if that's the best way to go. Catalonia is so heavily in debt that it recently asked for a emergency loan of €5 billion, from Madrid. But in this region with its own language and sense of identity, the financial crisis has also brought longstanding cultural and economic resentments to a boil.
