Nigel Farage - We Are On The Edge Of A Total Social Breakdown

Recommended Posts

Can we have a subforum to relegate these posts about rabid right-wing racists' ravings? Fed up of seeing this guy's ugly mug on the main forum.

You must remember that once Winston Churchill was a voice in the wilderness but history eventually proved him right. Live and learn. <_<

Ps. I`m not suggesting for one minute that Nigel is in the same class as Winny. ;)

take a walk down the wine aisle for starter.

I do all the time but at the end of the day I always walk out with a bottle of Australian plonk. :)

When you've sobered up can you edit your first sentence so it makes sense. I don't follow what the sentence means although I think I understand what you are trying to say.

I'd just come inside for a moment after lighting up one of those disposal aluminium tray barbecues outside, waiting for initial burn off, and my mind was working faster than my fingers at the keyboard. And now I'm also tired from being sat outside all evening, if I mess up the rest of this post.

77 years old. Maybe he retired at 59 after selling his pharmacy. I'm wondering where all his money went. More likely to own a home and without a mortgage. Should be ok. Yet at 77, now a position where he was struggling financially, when new pension level, even after the cuts, is more than many adults survive on in the UK. No private pension? It's difficult to tell but from the note he left maybe his private pension had disappeared.

He was said to be a retired chemist, with a wife and a daughter, who had sold his pharmacy in 1994.

Not a very nice note he left. I'd argue the austerity is offering younger able workers more opportunity in the future, especially to buy their own homes at lower prices. When older people are now being forced to sell for less, when they've seen decades of good life and HPI.

That kinda stuff is easier than engaging with his actual arguments for you isn't it?

How about addressing the points made, rather than the rather obvious ad hominem attack?

And his point is? He's basically continually ranting about the EU being the root of all evil and doomed.

The is not particularly surprising because he's head of a single-issue party, but doesn't make him uniquely qualified to talk about anything in particular.

He leads a party that commands 14% of the national vote.

Whats your qualifications??

Man tells world exactly what he problem is.

World ignores the words and responds only to his smugness.

World becomes more shit.

That speech was brilliant but the most important thing was the German tits first question in response....he rolled out the fear card. That's all they have left.

And still the british public talk about him being smug.

And David Cameron leads a party that gets twice as many votes, so does that mean he's even more qualified according to your argument?

Now back in reality, you'll find politicians will say whatever they think gets them the most votes from their electorate, so it's generally wise to take whatever they say with a pinch of salt.

Actually the Conservatives only got 1.5 million more votes in the last European elections. Might want to get the facts right before you use them in an argument.

More like:

Man tells world what problem is

Gets called racist, loon, conspiracy theorist, crackpot, extremist, nazi etc by a small but extremely vocal minority

Man gets proven right

But by then too late. Everything collapses

Ravings? You think anything he said is incorrect? Or is it just that you don't want to see the truth (which is admittedly quite ugly).

I lost a little respect for Nigel Farage when he denounced the Occupy St Paul's protesters on Question Time. It was at that point that, despite his rhetoric - much of which I applaud - he became just like any other ypical Politician.

In the supermarket this evening I was looking for foodstuff from Greece - just out of interest. Saw some stuff from Spain, Portugal and Italy but I didn't spot anything from Greece. There might be stuff on the shelves but for sure it's not that obvious.

I also popped into Lidl for some foodstuff and there were plenty of items about 30% cheaper there than similar stuff in places like Sainsburys etc.

This is interesting because when I was 16 years old my first job was in a supermarket working with fruit and veg...

I saw a lot of produce from Greece more than any other EU country

As soon as UKIP drives the governing parties towards giving us the often promised but never delivered referendum then their job will be done.

If the other $hits kept their promises UKIP would probably not even exist and we would never have heard of Farage!!

Interesting anecdote on the Telegraph debt crisis live page last night. It claimed that if the UK had joined the single currency back in Blair's time then the boom time would have been ever more rampant, the slide down more pronounced and by now we would have been forced out...

The single currency would never have survived an exit by Britain exactly the same as it won't survive one by Spain when the time comes!!

Next contestant: Sybil Fawlty Nigel Farage. Specialised subject: The Bleedin obvious. Farage is a bit like the Lib Dems. Easy when you don't have to make any decisions, not so easy when you have to, although he will never know.

Please make an effort before you post. What were you expecting to see on your shelves from little Greece? A whole aisle of taramasalata and Greek yoghurt?

Spain, Italy and Portugal have a population 10 times that of Greece, and they make stuff that we like consuming - take a walk down the wine aisle for starter.

Lidl prices 30% than Sainsbury's? No Sh!t, I thought people went there because they liked the queues at the till.

You pays your money you makes your choice......anyway people like to queue they don't like to miss out on anything, if there is a queue it must be good, there must be a demand, anyway it gives people a chance to chat being 'in touch with the man on the street'. ;)

....cash rich time poor have fewer choices?

Importantly he is the only MSM politician highlighting the massive issues. It may be obvious to you but a lot of people arent as informed.

Like or loathe Nigel Farage, you have to applaud his consistency and tenacity.

There is something about him that I like, although I don't agree with everything he says....but he seems more honest and truthful than many of the other politicians who you can read like a book...could it be partly because of his near death experience I wonder? ;)

It could be that because he's a stockbroker he's a more convincing liar than most politicians*. ;)

* = Tony Blair excepted.

Perhaps it's because he's married to a white German rather than, say, a black British woman? Whatever, it's a libellous post and the mods would be well advised to remove it. It tells us much more about the Little Professor than it does anything about Nigel Farage.

The curse of political correctness. Don't bother about Farage's personal views / faults whatever. It doesn't matter one jot whether he's a raving racist or not. The political and business elite LOVE that they can deny anyone legitemacy by playing this card. It is not the racists versus the rest of us, it's a war between an utterly corrupt elite and everyone else - like it or not.

I might be a fierce anti authoritarian, old school anarcho socialist, who wouldn't in a million years vote for right wing labour. But I am willing, able and intellectually honest enough to admit that on the eu - FARAGE IS RIGHT.

At least his companions in the EU parliament seem to have stopped sniggering of late, which says it all.

racists

It depresses me that people on the left still seem to think that an accusation of racism can be used to trump all rational debate particularly in the case of someone like Farage who, whatever you think of his general political stance, is clearly not a racist. It's the equivalent of the sheep in Animal Farm bleating to the order of the pigs so as to drown out all dissent regardless of its nature.

Farage did that massive rant in the European parliament a couple of years ago where he ripped the whole thing to shreds. An Italian woman I know mentioned it and raved about it and apparently it had been widely circulated via youtube among her Italian friends. They thought it wonderful that someone was saying what they were actually thinking, but what none of their representatives would actually dare say.
