A Hole In The Land

Recommended Posts

Not the first place in Devon I have seen like this.

Big house owns lots of land except for one bit close to the house.

"The gardens and grounds are beautifully laid out and provide both privacy and an enjoyable amenity. "

Apart from whoever is in Barnell Cottage

Barnell Cottage Reference: DV143

6 guests

Children welcome

Baby welcome

Four bedrooms

One bathroom, one shower room

Welcome hamper, linen and toiletries

Parking for three vehicles

If I'm going to be spending serious money on a country estate in the South West then I don't want to buy one right next to a holiday cottage.

If I can remember which the other one is I'll post a link to that.

Chances are, the cottage is owned by the vendor, who wants to continue to enjoy the local idyl but can no longer afford the upkeep and mortgage on his over-priced pad. I'll bet he would also be objecting to any planning applications when you want to put down a helicopter pad or paint the house pink.

My suggested negotiating strategy would be simple, "I'll buy everything within the envelope, including the cottage. Oh, and by the way, your asking price is a joke, isn't it?"
