Converted Lurker

The Power Of The Mainstream Media

Recommended Posts

I`ve looked on newsnow and nearly to a man the report is positive. Hardly any mention of the fact that Rightmove only sampled 100,000 properties and not the 150,000 they say they do. No weighting for the S.E. bias in prices. Unsold property piling up. No mention of what agents they use and whether they change the agents to suit the message they want to put out.

Perhaps the biggest issue is the vast difference between their average selling price and Halifax, 30K difference, that must suggest that they perm their figures from the more expensive properties, therefore skewing the figures. Asking prices mean little, prices are on a knife edge, if sentiment turns then interesting times ahead.
