Sterling slips towards recent 11-week low vs dollar

Sterling has been under pressure due to expectations that the BoE will cut interest rates again as early as November. But on Wednesday BoE Governor Mervyn King said he could not promise a rate cut, adding the central bank would not make up its mind until it meets next month.

I dont understand, inflation is rising, $ intrest rates continue to rise, uk intrest rates have historically been a few % above us intrest rates.......

but intrest rates are coming down, and are going to match us rates, or go lower?
