Card Spending Still Falling

Recommended Posts

Bad news for those in the service industry then. Good news for homeowners with morgage payments, who are getting wise and cutting back on frivolous debt.

Bad news for those on here who relish the thought of people losing there homes so they can step in and buy cheap. Then becoming the new "smug" that they all hate so much.

After all, chant on about a house price "crash", and not a "correction", and if they are lucky, maybe it'll become a self fullfilling prophecy ;)

Wifes been using the park and ride on Saturdays for nearly 5 years off and on and it's very noticable over the last couple of months how easy it is to get a car parking place. Even my wife noticed this and pointed it out to me last Saturday when I also went into town for the first time (and last) this year. :D

We ate out yesterday on a special occasion, managed to stear the family to a cheeper restaurant and it was virtually empty.

My favorite restaurant in the village has closed down: not too surprising as it was never very busy even at the best of times, but it's probably lucky that I'm moving.

Well they will be waiting a very long time.

House prices to return to a sensible level will take up to five years IMHO, and could still be out of reach for many except for the thrifty.

Target. Large deposit means smaller mortgage equals happiness.
