Antique Or Collectables Experts - What Is This Called, Please?

It's been in my possession for ages, once a long time ago checked it in a Millers or similar and saw objects like it had some value, I think it's a wooden towel rail from the 40s or 50s. Totally forgotten what they're known as, hopefully not tat... :)

My immediate reaction is an umbrella stand, could be wrong though

Mass produced 1950's-1980's.

Paint it white. Re-brand it as an i-Towel Handy. Price it £349 :D

Thanks yes they usually sell for at least that which is better than nothing

Yep, last week I sold a broken mobile phone on ebay for £50 and this morning I listed two empty printer cartridges with a starting price of £1 + £1.50 P&P and within 10 minutes I had already got one bid.
