Daily Express Back On Form

as a word in this context i quite like 'surge'. by comparison old favorites like 'soar' seem a bit cliched & dated.

They used "surge" quite recently when they said 68% in 10 years because I remember doing a comment comparing that figure to their earlier 117% in 10 years

SURGING DOWN IT IS THEN

27.09.11, 8:38am

Jan 2010 the Express told us prices had risen 117% in 10 years. Why just 18 months later is it only 68%? That's a 49% surge down. In another 18 months is it going to be up only 19% in 10 years?

For once they do have something to crow about. Sadly the market did bounce in October. Just the hint of QE has done the trick before the printing has eveb started. God knows what will happen now Merv is handing out the 75 billion throughout the rest of the winter with zero interest rates to boot. not that he will worry too much if he has overcooked it this time, he will no doubt enjoy the boost to his personal investment portfolio.

Yep the more he prints the bigger the size of his gold plated pot. Yep relative to inflation it remains the same, but relative to the plebs he gets richer in the Mervmar Republic and relative wealth is power.

Having missed the Nationwide rise, they weren't going to let the Halifax numbers go unreported...

Did anyone see the review of the papers on breakfast this morning?

The Express was held up to highlight the piece on the actresses on the front but the paper was folded over to obscure the headline.

It was the only paper folded when they were going through them all.

Not so biased........?
