Prince William The Nimby

Recommended Posts

On my galaxy tab so dont know how to paste, but on the bbc website the now is a lovley story of prince william decrying the new planning laws coming in

what a bloody cheek from one of the biggest uk land owning families. They can own whole counties and dozens of homes but then complain when anyone else just wants a small home to raise a family.

He is an a%hole

Your Royal Highness you are more useless than your useless dad. Actually you come across worse than that (epic Royal failure) uncle of yours, Edward.

Do you really think building lots more of the wrong houses willy nilly just so the top 1% (and you will never been in that percentage) can profit is really a good idea?

Building lots of news houses isn't going to get you a nice new house or get anyone on the housing ladder, it won't make the banks give you a mortgage

What part of the UK is deep economic trouble do you lot not understand? you can not build your way out of recession.

Protecting the green belt is nothing to do with being a NIMBY

I cant get over the sheer cheek of the privledged fool. Frightened of the plebs nibbling away at their foxhunting acres.

There fine with giant cattle sheds and pheasant pens all over the countryside, if you have 5 acres or more you dont even need premission to build an agricultural shed that can be 10 times as big as a house, but lo and behold any humans wish to occupy it.

They treat there animals better than there fellow man and thats an absolute fact

You missed out horses - how many stables have been built over the years.

Maybe with a bit of stealth you could move into one. (Sharers only obvously).

Dissagree strongley with that

We have built our way out of recession in the past and can do it again , if fact if the building takes off everything takes off.

Who said anything about needing a mortgage . We need social housing that working people can access single as well as married working people .

In the long run instead of spending a Billion £ every 40 days on HB , how much would we save by using that money to build houses assets they we would have long term .

We have more than enough green belt in order to use some . We would still have plenty left . We do have an accute shortage of housing and that is a priority. There are also plenty of brown field sites that are not being built on quick enough.

More and more houses mean people will spend less of their time working for shelter and more time doing other productive things. They've got to be paid with real wealth though. We don't have much right now, it would simply be more borrowing. The kind of wealth we have in the UK now is a very moderate amount of production, bit of efficient technology, some efficient supply infrastructure (moving food around etc.) but not that much else.

One of NuLabours biggest mistakes (as far as I am concerned) was not restoring the social housing stock that they were (and are) so critical of Thatcher for selling off.

During the 'boom' years they could have built many thousands of council homes and as a result councils could have made money (or at least not lost so much) rather than paying so many billions out to private LL's.

As I said use the £ Billion spent every 40 days on HB.
