Mods Can We Have A List Of Uk Constuencies ?

Recommended Posts

The Google API allows for it on geoip , but depending on the browser it will flag the request and ask for the user to authorise it, I think all ask user permission.

The rest would be simple, people would allow the geoip and then match that to the boundry based on a match.

Edit: This would be instead of everyone simply electing their MP from a list, the geoip thanks to streetview is accurate to beyond cell phone location for instance.

Are you wanting current constituencies, or the new proposed constituencys?

What about a poll that lists all constituencies and asks people to tick which one they are in. (This requires people to know which one they are in, which might seem a known fact but is frequently not)

And as with the previous poster - what for?

Mods - we could really do with seeing if we have a member in each constituency - is there a way of doing this easily?

Are we going to start our own HPC party to run for government? :D

Not unless you can raise £650 x 650

It's for seeing if we have someone active in each constituency. To be a bit more organised about emailing/writing to MPs.

Why not?

We can easily form a manifesto based on sounds ideas and discussions from the site and we have the kudos of being able to claim that we could see what the currenct state of affairs were going to be, when the major parties couldnt "see it" coming!

We even have some advantages over the current political parties which they will shy away from discussing and we can manipulate the MSM and online news sources with some technology that might be made available to get the message across when funding for paid for advertising isnt available to the same degree as the mainstream parties have. ;)

Count me out, I am total disagreement with all the socialists and anarchist that post on this site.

Political Party might be a bit of a stretch but a lobbying group is possible. The main aim would be to make housing more affordable: if we could agree on a few key policies that leant themselves to this aim someone could draw up a proforma letter urging their MP to endorse them. I lurk on this site all the time and remember someone writing a letter to their MP about a year ago and it was pretty impressive. Shame I can't remember who it was or the nature of it :(

If we did coordinate a letter drop to a large amount of MPs/councillors who knows it could ***** up their ears.

£500 to stand as an MP? They haven't put it up again have they? I wouldn't be surprised if they did!

About 1/3 of a million to have someone stand in every ward.

Nothing to stand as a Councillor.

£5000 to stand as an MEP, but you it's a proportional representation system, so you've more of a chance.

Perhaps it'd make more sense for everyone to stand for the tribe that wins your local elections, then if we all get in, switch parties to a new one, and with the majority, your in!
