The manager lavished Dunbar and three other prostitutes with gifts including a Bentley, foreign holidays and jewellery. ........ The judge calculated the weekly average she had received and questioned her, saying: 'The amount is not £500 pounds a week. It is not £1,000 pounds, or even £2,000 pounds a week. 'It is £20,000 pounds a week. How do you manage to evaluate your services - sex - at £20,000 pounds a week? "How do you justify that?" Miss Dunbar replied: "It wasn't me that was putting the worth on that. It was Mr Hopes paying what he thought it was worth.' ..... Prosecutors estimate that Miss Dunbar has already spent a massive £750,000 pounds on houses, cars and holidays, and so they may only get back £800,000 pounds of her share of the money. The stranger could argue, truthfully that he had no knowledge that the goods were stolen and is thus innocent. However you could probably get the cash back from him, provided he has not spent it. This man, who as CEO of a large company, could be expected to be rich spent money on prostitutes. Now they are claiming it back. Yet they are not claiming back the money he spent on other things such as luxury hotels. That is inconsistent. How could a hotel, or any other vendor know? If he had a large sum of legitimate cash, how are we determine which cash he spent on her? Perhaps her fees were all legitimate cash and the stolen cash was spent elsewhere.
