Bank Of America's Legal Woes Go Global After Norway's Sovereign Wealth Fund Sues For Mortgage Fraud

Recommended Posts

Can't wait for the US lawyer that brings a lawsuit on behalf of owners who took out a over sized mortgage because BoA tactics pushed up house prices.

I can see that mass action class lawsuit coming closer and closer.

When the lawyers get involved it becomes open season.

This is another reason why the housing market in the US is stalled - people are afraid to buy repos because they are unsure what the legal rammifications might be years from now.

The banks might have chucked out the original purchasers, you buy it at a discount and 5 or 10 years from now the original owners are back chucking you out because they won a court case against the bank.

So, apart from Madoff - how many banksters in jail?

Spoke to some Americans on Facebook last night and its all the fault of Jimmy Carter, and some obscure Democrats who wanted homes for the poor! They think a right wing Republican "born again" nut job is going to ride in and put everything right. America's blind faith in capitalism and capitalists will be its undoing. They are culturally incapable of seeing the wood, for the tree's.

The Jimmy Carter who told Americans they had to live within there means and thus promptly got kicked out of the White House to be replaced by the happy clappy Reagan?

The interesting thing is that if you look at all the various measures - trade deficit, government debt, oil/energy imports, etc... the US under Carter was the last point at which all of these were more or less balanced. For which he was completely trashed at the ballot box.

Future presidents learned that lesson (apart from Bush the Elder, ironically). Instead of 'Tax and Spend'(D) or 'Cut taxes and Spending'®, why not 'Cut taxes and Spend More'.. best of both!
