Good News On The Housing Market Sure To Be Coming

Recommended Posts

Some reasons why us bears can be confident that a HPC is coming:

1, Planning regulations are being freed up. More land is being made available to build upon, in an attempt to stimulate the economy. This will increase the supply of homes and drive down the price.

2, The government is coming under increasing pressure to abolish the 50p tax rate. This will be done soon, with the most likely comprimise being some sort of property tax on the rich to keep the lib dems happy.

3, Consumer confidence really has plunged. This will hit house prices in the next few months.

4, Risky lending is still showing no signs of a comeback. The banks are not going to make the same mistakes again. It will never come back, pretty much ensuring house price rises are impossible.

5, Estate agents are coming under increasing pressure to lower asking prices so they can sell more houses and actually stay in business.
