National Economic Systems.

Recommended Posts

We talk all the time of overhaulling our economic system, but are their actually any current economic systems or countries that

either/and/or have

1) a gold or other non debt backed currency

2) no central bank and centralization of credit and setting of interest rates

3) have no regulations

4) or have very strong regulations of fractional reserve

And if not, why not?

I like the idea of getting rid of the ponzi thing we currently seem to have, but is there any info the alternatives would be better?

We all hate capitalism till we look at the atrocities commited under the name of communism, afterall, maybe our current system is the best of a bad bunch.

In the absence of an interest rate, does capitalism exist?

Isnt that the whole point, there should be no such thing as an interest rate, just individual interest rates decided between individual parties. The presence of a central bank is by its very definition, anti-capitalist.

We could follow Easter Island's example and have a timber based economy..... That seemed to work quite well until some greedy "elite" stole all the trees.

.... Not sure this example is working. Sounds too familiar.

I think Libya tried this, maybe Afghanistan before them.

Kennedy tried it, Lincoln tried it...
