Lbc Phone In About Housing Now

Recommended Posts

LBC 97.3 James O'Brien is currently hosting a phone in on housing. In his introductory comments he's already mentioned:

The British obsession with owning

Tha sheer unaffordability of housing in much of London now

How much his mortgage will cost him over it's term

Might be worth a listen. Or even a call :P

Yes it shame, getting ready for the big build up, had all written down this time. Pity James O'Brien likes to talk rather than listen, I ended begging to be allowed on after the news. (not sure with the delay it was broadcasted )

Presenter is very anti-rental.

Yeah he was, he tested the previous called to tb to destruction. The caller simply didn't have an answer for the charge that it is perhaps socially undesirable to construct a situation in which people cannot buy, even if they can on the face of it afford it. The caller made a decent point initially about the lack of finance killing people's buying power (at current prices) but then showed his hand by stating that this meant landlords could and should be able and allowed to shaft these people, because 'people need to learn that you can't always have what you want'.

I think I've been debating with that person over on EA Today...
