Tv Licensing Now Advertising On Hpc

Now that the BBC has binned off the formula 1 I can't really see how I get anywhere near the equivalent value that I pay for a tv license. I listen to BBC radio loads but can't see this costing £100+ per year.

Outdated business model. Let it die.

Just as well there's no need for a license for the radio, nor to own a tv for that matter. DVDs and tinternet and fark the gestapo. I do look forward to my monthly letters now and occasional visits-its always nice to know I cost the scum suckers money with no hope of a return for them.:)

The TV Tax is one of the most nasty little throw backs from the past we still have to suffer in this country, no organisation that uses fear of imprisonment on the most vulnerable in our society, in order to fund the bloated wasted of cash that is the BBC, should ever get your respect *or* your money.

Yes they are getting a bit desperate now, apparently I can pay weekly now!

However I refuse to be forced to pay for socialist/statist propaganda. Indeed I think one should be able opt out on political grounds.

How can any organisation with a guaranteed cash flow, from forcible taxation of £3.5BN per year, have a budget crisis? I ask you. The BBC is a state, within a state.

I'm in the process of giving my brother's family my TV set. Cancelling Sky subscription and BBC "Licence". Kill two birds with one stone.

Got rid of my free view box a couple of years ago, never looked back. The amount of extra time I have is startling. Kept the tv but just use it for viewing photos and (increasingly rarely) DVDs.

If the BBC is so sure theirs is such a unique product why don't they have the courage of their convictions and go subscription only? There's no technical reason why this couldn't be implemented...
