White House Refutes Report On Fannie

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The Obama administration on Tuesday refuted a published report that said the White House is directing a group of advisers to develop a proposal to maintain a major role for the government in the U.S. housing sector.

...sounds a bit 'whiffy'..... :rolleyes:

under new names and with new constraints. In one approach, according to the report, Fannie and Freddie would become public utilities that would guarantee mortgage-backed securities they issue.
