Mervyn King

Recommended Posts

I'm getting pretty w@nked off with Mervyn King and the cronies who vote on interest rates.

I did some googling around and found that King said back in Febuary 2010 says "inflation rate jump to 3.5pc 'will be temporary'"

Now he says "Inflation 'will hit 5% by the end of the year' Bank of England warns"

He hasnt got a clue. I needed to let of some steam.

He's very good at claiming a £26 senior citizen's railcard on expenses, however. They were so impressed with that, he's now Sir Mervyn. http://www.ifaonline.co.uk/ifaonline/news/2074692/mervyn-king-claimed-gbp26-senior-railcard-expenses

Yes, you couldn't make it up.

He's obviously an outstanding success story for the UK, it's just me who's too stupid to realise it

Probably a naive, "newbie" type query but I want to know how long he can get away with it for. How high can he let inflation go ignoring his supposed remit of keeping inflation at 2%??
