M6

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the m6 really well? I probably mean as a passenger more than anything else though... There's a big house just a field away from the motorway with big mad tudor style chimneys and I wondered where it was. I never remember to write down what junction is next when we go past.

Yes this is probably the most bizarre thing I've asked all week.

South of Manchester but on the going north side.

I think there's a big forest just after it.

I reckon it's about 30-50 mins away from Manchester if that helps.

I've had a look on streetview as they did the motorway.

:)

It's a wide house with huge chimneys..

My OH thinks I'm barking too if that's any consolation.

:)

Not stapely, not adlington, not ...

http://www.arleyhallandgardens.com/ is the right sort of house I think but not enough chimneys

This is the sort of chimney

I must drive up that road three times a week, I'm sure I know which one you mean but I just can't picture it.

I'll keep my eyes peeled on Friday..

Sarah, no one can help because no one goes there,

An estate in manc chester may well be cheap but that is for a very good reason. I would stick with your other plan if I were you.

I am still trying to work out where that sepia tone palace/castle looking building was that we had a thread on here about 2 or 3 years ago - you know, the one that could have been in Scotland, Wales, Canada or India or Burma or some other part of the Empire.

Didn't see anything obvious today going Northbound (looking left) between J16 and J21.

I'm presuming it's something obvious and not a farm house?

If I head down to Birmingham I'll look out for anything further south..

It's a lot bigger than a normal house.

I suspect it's something I see as a passenger because I'm free to turn my head and look back at it...

ta muchly :)

I started off loving that thread. I think everyone was googling the shit out of the internet for the glory of solving the mystery. I ended up frustrated as hell.
