Bruce Banner
I am going to cancel my Sky, switching over to "Free Sky", and I'm going to look for the cheapest 'phone and Internet deals on offer. (I'm in a money saving mood. I'm even selling the car.) I guess my current subscriptions have an end date. How do you go about timing your new subscriptions with these end-dates so as not to get any cancellation fees? Is my start date the date I sign up with someone new, or something else, and if it is 'something else', how do you synchronise it to the day to avoid fees? Any help appreciated. I cancelled Sky a couple of years ago. From memory, you have to give 30 days notice, give them a ring. You'll lose the recording facility without a contract, but you can buy Freesat receivers with two tuners and a hard disk, I use a 'Humax Foxsat HDR'. I've not missed it at all, Freesat gives me all the channels I need and I use 'LoveFilm' for movies.
Bruce Banner
Thanks Bruce - little buggers with not letting the recording work, eh? Also, if you use a sky box without subscription you don't get many channels so it's best to buy a Freesat receiver. You can use the existing sky dish and cables. Bossybabe
Thanks Bruce - little buggers with not letting the recording work, eh? I have a Fortecstar passion + box for Freesat, and it receives HD and has two USBs for recording on to a dongle or External HDD. Got it for £40 on ebay. The Masked Tulip
Do they still send a guy round to pick the box up or do they forget and then bill you lots of money for not returning it?
