danlee74
Was watching it too ... I like Hugh Grant a lot more now!! Something along the lines of "Reporters should be doing something more worthwhile than reporting who Ryan Giggs has been sleeping with. I mean, who cares?" Respec'!! rantnrave
Yes - Hugh Grant came across well. If this house piece comes, it's going to be shorter than the weather at this rate

If this house piece comes, it's going to be shorter than the weather at this rate 20 mins of the programme to go yet ... mind you, knowing the BBC it'll be a spacer right at the end ...!! rantnrave
Paxman "We were going to do a piece on how high house prices are the source of most of this country's economic and social ills, unveiling a scandal that shows how a corrupt media and vested interests have duped much of the UK public, but we've run out of time. Now, looking at tomorrow's papers, I see the Express is running with a story about booming house prices..."
danlee74
Em, not sure if it's newsnight Scotland or regular newsnight which is running the report...prepare to be disappointed ye outside Scotland You may have a point ... now onto energy ... ... I wasn't watching when they were talking about "what's coming up" at the top of the show ... 15 mins to go tho ...! And "property pieces" and disappointment is a good old friend of mine! catmandu
At least Hugh was well worth watching, and hopefully you'll be able to see the property report on iPlayer afterwards. Edited July 12, 2011 by catmandu

Obviously too much for us English to stomach?! If someone could put a linky up to it then that'd be appreciated!

Something along the lines of "Reporters should be doing something more worthwhile than reporting who Ryan Giggs has been sleeping with. I mean, who cares?" Respec'!! maybe he was inferring that they should at least also report the value of Ryan Gigg's house, or the value of some other house he secretly shagged in

Obviously too much for us in Wales too. Looking forward to seeing the link. Will have to listen to Hugh Grant too, missed that bit.
catmandu
Quite a short report and interview in the end. Classic presenter vs VI interview (RICS surveyor). Presenter pushed hard on how the market is in the pits and vendors are unrealistic. VI mostly said things were not too bad, but toward the end acknowledged that for many houses on the market for a long time, the vendors "could benefit from reducing their price". Not sure when the link appears, but will put it on this thread.
