Mp3 Downloads For Kids

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

My little lad's just bought himself an MP3 player out of his saved pocket money and wants some cool music for it. I found out how to "rip" my CDs, but obviously listening to his dad's old 80's music doesn't really cut it.

So how does this work nowadays? Is there some site where he can, say, have an account that I could credit with a fiver every now and then, and he could download the tracks he likes? Anyone know about this? Cheers.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

Spotify looks the best of the bunch, though it's a shame you have to download a Windows exe to use it. Is there nothing like this that is web-based (i.e. can be used with Linux)? I don't mind paying subscriptions/charges.

I know there's stuff to be had for free, but I don't really want to send a 7-year old in that direction. Entering a search for "JLS" (popular kid's group) on filestube.com put me a click away from "real sex in Birmingham tonight".

Anyone know if there is such a thing as a good web-based, child-oriented music download site?
