Jane Norman Goes Down The Pan

Recommended Posts

Walked past the one in Coney Street, York, yesterday evening. There was a van with 'Britain's Premier Stocktake Service' emblazoned on it parked right outside. Presumably it was sent there by the administrators.

According to press reports, Zolfo Cooper intends to put Jane Norman into a "pre-pack administration", under which a buyer for the company or its assets has already been lined up in advance, so that the sale can be carried out shortly after the firm has entered formal administration.

The practice has been criticised for leaving creditors unpaid.

It's the Norman con quest.

I've never heard of them either.

They should have borrowed more money and had a larger marketing budget. No pain no gain. You only get out what you put in.

It was a shop that was about in the 70s I used to shop there, the clothes were good and very fashionable at the time, in fact the same shop is still there today.....but today they are drowning in debt....end of an era.....

It didn't have to be this way. ;)

Their advertising department must have been pants.

Their business model is falling apart at the seams.

Did inventory levels get a bit tight or were they overstocking.

Hope the shareholders don't get fleeced.

Hats off to those who can pick up a closing down sale bargain.

Would have been a good company to short.

I'm going to jacket in now.

(I'll get me coat.)
