I will bet that there is not another country in the world that would make such a provision, so I imagine it is a record of sorts.

Having that many languages would have made the (undoubtedly already bloated, we are talking the public sector here) cost of developing and maintaining that website astronomical.

Edit: Only three of them are European languages. B*stards.

Edit edit: To be fair, only the contact us page is in each language. But if you can't read English, who is supposed to be picking up the phone? Have they got a Tigrinya speaker standing by? What a mealy mouthed piece of crap. The French have no problem getting well snooty about non-French speakers, we should tear a page out their book.

Is the correct answer (unless you're a BNP activist) 1?

The audio option will be due to the disability discrimination act but the various language translations are probably just the councils creating jobs for the boys simply because they can.

It is stuff like that that impedes the drive to integrate those that come here into the language, why should they try and learn English if they have no need too?

Worst aspect of it is they will be cutting front line services before they go after any of this stuff so some old granny who was getting meals on wheels will not now so a Romanian gypsy can read the local authority website on his entitlement to housing benefit!!
