Just to announce that there is a real sh1t storm brewing in Greece.

Serious accusations have been leveled against the Greek PM about financial dealings with the major investment banks, that have effectively sold out the country. To date this angle has been ignored by the main European and British press - I think they are worried that it might cause a chain reaction.

The accusations are summarised well in the articles above, and essentially refer to a CDS fraud that has shafted the Greek people and seen Billions go to the banks and elites that the Greeks are then on the hook for. I think default is now 100% certain and it will take down a load of European and US Banks. In essence the Greeks are saying the banking debts are fraudulent and therefore shouldn't be paid.

As an added turn of interest, I understand there is also a Giant Vampire "Calamari" connection.

In an interview on Greek television, Member of Parliament for New Democracy, Panos Kammenos, made allegations that if true would point to a massive scam undertaken by senior members of Greece's ruling elite. These allegations were repeated by Mr. Kammenos on the floor of parliament and given support by the leader of LAOS, Mr. George Karatzaferis. In a nutshell, they allege that Papandreou and members of his team presided over the sale of 1.3 billion dollars worth of credit default swap contracts (CDS on Greek sovereign debt) on or around December of 2009, shortly after coming to power. The $1.3 billion worth of insurance protecting against a Greek default was bought during the spring and summer of the same year, by the Hellenic Postbank, a public banking arm of the Greek government. (In other words, public funds to be used for public insurance against default).

Well if you want to extend the analogy to other heavily advertised products then what has been going on is a bit like somebody taking a policy out on your trip / fall / injury and then shooting you in the face and picking up the money.

It started with the small companies - those too small to fight back.

Then it happened to the large companies, sometimes revolving round cut price takeovers where the banks played a part in first shafting the share price and then picking up on the takeout.

Then it happene at a country wide level where some nice lumpy donations ensured the banksters were still made whole when their games backfired. Refunded they carried on the same tactics and are just doing it all again.

Papendrou's allegedly brought a nation to bankruptcy and a population to its knees just to pocket 27Bn. Can't see the rioting mobs wanting to pay that back, so the govmt will be sacked (in the medieval sense) and Greece will default. This will bring down banks left, right and centre, which will invoke nationalism and ultimately WW3.

Probably now is the time to stock up on noodles and crossbows, like this one. Oh, they've just gone out of stock.

This is definitely headed for a DSS. I don't think the media here has picked up on just how much protesting the Greeks have done, and how it is now escalating.
