Going To Bed Hungry...

This is another non-story; the same as yesterday's "news" about the ugly bint living in a shed. She was a 45-year-old blonde bingo-winged gym owner. She had seen one too many hard winters judging by the picture. It's the same story really. Yesterday it was the hardships of living in a shed. Today it's living with hunger. Tomorrow it will be an account of some woman who can't afford batteries for her vibrator. My heart bleeds. Truly it does.

The trouble is: New Labour weren't socialists, they were fascists.

They still couldn't make the bl00dy trains run on time though. Fascists and incompetent to boot.

Most of the people who were adversely affected by the bankers behaviour were living wrecklessly and on the brink if house prices didn't keep doubling every 10 years.

So the fact that the financial morons cooked up a second great depression shouldn't be seen as a mitigating factor when someone's employment or business prospects take turn for the worst? It's still down to them being reckless?

Tough crowd here on HPC. :D

Not everyone lost their job, and of those that did, maybe more should've had the means to survive a few months without work, especially if you are responsible for 7 other people.

yes, it's a very carb-heavy diet, would be Ok for a week or so, but not a long term good bet.

I once spent the summer as a student practically living off dal (i.e. lentils) and chapattis (i.e. flatbreads). I was very tired during the following autumn term, in a way I've never been since.

the beans are good, but they could add some greens to that pretty cheaply. And an apple or two wouldn't go amiss. Maybe a couple of tins of sardines a week too.

If the diet is monotonous then it's probably a good sign it is inadequate.

You sure about that?

Dhal + flatbread preferbably whole-wheat/grain/brown is a pretty OK diet. It'll get you 80%+ of your daily diet needs.

A bit monotonous and you should add some fresh fruit + veg to it. Frozen peas are OK; canned veg - so-so.

Monotony is not a sign of a poor diet. More a sign you're missing bacon, pop + chips.

The 'feeling a bit tired' can be all in your head. A lot of people will claim to feel under nourished if they don;t eat half a cow a day when, in reality, people do not need to eat that much protein. Most people eat way too much protein - much more than is healthy.
