Now he's certified by the Queen, maybe he could run the economy?

Good experience with "The Price is Right"! ;)

We could do worse! :o

Knight To See You, To See You, Knight.

Jolly good! It was just a suggestion he might do better than another "knight"!

Mind you, what about Stephen fry as Archbishop, and Ozzy Osbourne as PM?

Apart from a few stupid catchphrases, what has this tight-fisted silly old **** done that is remotely worth of a knighthood?

What do any of them do? At least I hope no payment to a political party was involved!

I suppose entertaining millions of people for over 40 years doesn't count for anything these days.

Deserves the award, if only for sheer staying power.

I like Brucie and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

There are many who deserve such things less!

Hooray for Bruce! ;)

Lifetime of entertaining and a lifetime of charity work. He has at least used his fame to raise money for worthy causes. Many don't. Anyway, my old Nan thought he was great so he is ok in my book.

Rather Brucie that Fred the shred.

This thread deserves a gag....

A man was having dinner in a restaurant with his beautiful young girlfriend. Some customers started calling him a Pedo and a cradle snatcher just because he was 51 and she was 21. He said it totally ruined their 10th Anniversary.

:D

That's the point though isn't it ? Even if you don't like his brand of entertainment (I don't particularly) you can't deny that he has made a lot of people happy.

Strictly come dancing I've only watched a couple of times, but it seems like a good show. Plus :

Oldies/youngies and middle aged can all compete, not like the x factor.

Encourages people to do dancing and exercise.

Makes the oldies feel they've still got something when Bruce is wheeled out.

Against him with his 60 years in showbiz and charity work you've got some sad people who've probably done nothing with their lives.

Personally I'd do away with the honours system entirely, but far less worthy individuals than Brucie get gongs and knighthoods.

Crook, perjurer, liar and all-round shyster Jeffrey Archer spent time in jail for being a crook, perjurer, liar and a shyster yet still (just about) retains his peerage. And he's not the only jailbird Lord.

Saw Bruce on Sky News, has he had a facelift as he looks younger than before. Hardly any wrinkles on his face.

Concerns me when people who were on telly when I was a kid, are still on it! unsure.gif
