and thanks for the repayments....our pension funds are big buyers of gilts.

The percentage we spend on welfare is crazy.

A good 50% shrinkage on that item would be possible to balance the books.

Welfare covers pensions though, it would be electorial suicide to do this as pensioners vote.

And more on welfare than the NHS

The country is completely scr*wed.

And as the Baby Boomers retire (as of now), welfare and health spending are set to increase and tax income set to decline. Oh dear.

Better keep those interest rates down with ZIRP/QE or it's really going to be game over (in an unservicable commitments sense as opposed to the unservicable in real terms sense of ZIRP/QE policy).
