Carlos Tevez And The Daily Mail

Recommended Posts

Thought this would amuse the evening crowd..

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1394386/Carlos-Tevez-astonishing-attack-Manchester.html?ITO=1490

He went on: 'For example, in Marbella you can buy a house by the beach, relax there and later you can go there on holiday and everything.

'But a house in Manchester costs six or seven million pounds. It is better to rent.'

Ms Gimenez said: 'It's very expensive there,' and Tevez replied: 'It's another world.'

Either he means Argie money or his advisers are taking him for one hell of a ride

I assume he means a pad that would befit a 'superstar' footballer. I'm from Totnes, so I've not heard of Tevez, but I have heard of Manchester, and I understand that it rains a lot there.

Presumably this is what he can't afford. Clearly even superstar footballers need a house price crash.

Nice place, especially the mirror above the bed.

Can't help feeling that a billiard room is such a waste though. Not much of a team sport, not much of a spectator sport, quite dull TBH.

he is kind of right, business head....

Its probably cheaper to buy a house in marbella, than rent an equiv house in marbella. However in Manc its ALOT more expensive to buy a multi million pound house than it is to rent an equiv house. Marbs is warmer than manc and you get a better view... Sounds like he has a business head on...

He could live in Longsight a bit cheaper than that!

He obviously got his facts wrong. What he meant to say was:

'But a house in Manchester will cost six or seven million pounds in 5 years time, according to TV's Kirsty Alsopp. It is better to buy.'

he is overlooking the fact that it is much cheaper to get pulled off at half time in Manchester.

You would have thought that for £7.5 Million and the fact it is in (near) Manchester they could have stuck a roof over the swimming pool?

That property has been posted in here before quite some time ago. I wouldn't mind betting that is one of the reasons it is not selling!! <_<

Or could it be the £7.5m price tag?

anything's possible. by all accounts his English is very poor even after having lived in the UK for five years, suggesting a certain lack of, er, intellectual horsepower. and the whole thing with his being 'owned' by third parties were very dodgy. i wouldn't be at all surprised if a huge slice of the more-than-£10m-a-year he earns is trousered by various 'agents'. trying to sell him a coronation street style terraced house for £6.5m would be a natural extension of that.

Didn't a Chelsea player, also on sky-high wages, complain about high house prices? If memory serves me right it was the German player Ballack. But I can see Tevez's point. He's not going to want to stay in Manchester once he leaves the club. As he points out, a place in Marbella would be useful to him as he could use it as an holiday escape. He's not going to go back to Manchester on holiday. It makes sense for someone who works in Manchester, and who expects to be still there in 10 years time, to buy a house there. Carlos is on his bike within a year, so why should he?

And retired ex-superstar footballers want big money when selling their homes. A lot more than they paid for them in 2005.

If you didn't already know, that's Roy Keane's house you've linked to.

...the house needs to be priced for 2011 going on 2012 if a sale is the aim....while the new wave are renting instead of buying at least they understand the market....

Perhaps he should apply for a council house. As he isn't from the UK, he should have a good chance of getting one.

It appears only British/Irish footballers are so keen to jump into property. I can understand owning a prestige property in London but elsewhere I wouldn't see the attraction for a Carlos Kickaball type.who moves clubs every 2-3 years.

Does anyone else think Nedal (tennis player) has similar looks.......?
