Tracker Mortgages

Recommended Posts

I suspect what they did was to talk to a random 1000 members of the public on a topic most had no idea or interest in; tracker mortgages.

If you asked 1000 homeowners I bet the number who didn't know what was being tracked would be 5%

If you asked 1000 people with tracker mortgages what was being tracked I'd bet 0.5% would get it wrong.

Before I had a mortgage or a pension I had no idea how they worked - and no interest. My PhD took up lots of my brain and there was no space for worrying about financial instruments I didn't need of have any chance of needing for several years.

As soon as I was in the market for a mortgage I learned about them and now I am overinformed to a worrying degree.

But sensible polls don't get published - the only purpose of these stupid exercises.
