Scam Spam Email For The Oldies

Recommended Posts

For some reason I get a silversurfers email (Have NO idea why)

but todays made me smile and then frown

"An investment that ticks all your boxes"

The Investment

Invest from as little as €50,000.

Fixed returns of 150%:

- Full capital return after 12 months.

- 50% profit after 24 months.

A capital Investment in property as part of the Brazilian government backed scheme, Minha Casa Minha Vida.

A fully transparent due diligence report can be provided by an International law firm.

By contacting us regarding this investment you state that you are a ‘High Net Worth Investor’ as defined below and therefore are eligible to invest in this type of investment. This investment is NOT a retail product and is NOT suitable for everyone.

I agree to the fact that I am high net worth investor who:

- has an income in excess of GBP 100,000 per annum and/or

- has net assets (excluding primary residence) in excess of

GBP 250,000

It's got to be a scam surely? And they're only after rich idiots to extract money from?

The "High Net Worth Individual" thing is to circumvent rules on duty of care. If you're a HNWI then you don't need financial advice, they don't need FSA approval, you're deemed to be competent enough to make your own investment decisions, and effectively you can't go to the FSA or financial ombudsman or sue them if it goes wrong. Is that fish I smell?

(was hoping the wife had cooked me kippers for breakfast, but alas no..)

Looks like a comment on society that you can have a £100k+ income yet be dumb enough to fall for such a thing.

Yet I expect there may be a positive correlation: those who never fall for a scam don't tend to get rich, either.
