Taken from full page article on page 2.

"But intuitively this does not feel like the end of the boom; it does not have that manic quality of the late 1980's or the late 1990's. So my guess is that we are seeing a pause in growth, not the end of it."

"If growth really does slow then we may not feel much richer in, say, four year's time, than we do now. And then we might get very ratty indeed."

No guesses who he's voting for next time then.

On page 3- advert for Sofa workshop;

"Autumn discount sale. 20% off + ANOTHER 20% off!" Oh- and don't forget the 12 months interest free credit...

I think I would rather read something by Rod Hull and Emu.

I haven't read any of Rod's stuff. Any good?

So instead of focusing on the worst retail sales in 20 years, the highest ever oil prices, the highest ever house prices (in real terms) and the highest debt bubble ever ever.

Lets instead focus on our feeling that it isn't the end of the boom.

Hmmm, isn't this journo being paid to write this?

What a strange world we live in.

My feelings are more of the throwing up type when I read drivel like this!

Oh dear he's not still peddling his "mid-cycle dip" pish is he?

If I'm not mistaken, this is the same guy who called the top of the housing market around 2001.

*Gavin sighs but admires*

Nice avatar, it might even keep me more transfixed than TTRTRs old motorcycle one, which just kept catching my damn attention!
