No, you're rusticating COULD the house price rises of the last year be described as a "bubble"? It is not a term likely to engender confidence in the market. On Monday, when Gordon Brown described the doubling of UK house prices between 1999 and 2004 as a "housing bubble", there were sharp intakes of breath around the country. He didn't predict that the bubble would burst, however, but that rates of increase would return to a more sustainable level. Which would make it more of a balloon with a slow puncture.
