Rents Up As Too Many Houses Empty And Waiting For A Sale?

Recommended Posts

Where we are we're a lot of places hanging around for ages for sale - in a number of cases empty - with unrealistic asking prices. Over the last year rents seem to be on the up.

Is the spike in rents some are seeing a consequence of people making determined efforts to exit the market? Anyone got any data?

No, but this seems like a reasonable hypothesis. I've seen a big spike in sellers locally on rightmove (was 30ish for ages, now 50ish).
