Murdoch Asks Wembley Fans To 'tag' Their Pics To Facebook

Recommended Posts

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/3578988/See-your-face-in-Wembley-crowd.html

We've teamed up with Wembley and 360Cities.net to take this picture, which has been shot with a special hi-res camera. It means you can zoom in close and see every individual in the crowd.

It is the largest sized image of a sporting event ever taken.

If you spot yourself, friends or family you can tag yourself with a Facebook log in.

If you don't have a Facebook log in or weren't there, why don't you just go celeb hunting. Surely beloved Man City fan Liam Gallagher turned up for this one?

Tell your football-loving friends about the picture and let's try and get every face in the 80,000 tagged.

So they want you to identify every single one of the 80,000 attendees at the cup final, not just yourself but you can 'identify' and 'tag' anyone else you know.

Why would they want to do this? Why do they want to get a cross reference between football fans and facebook accounts? Why do they want people to identify and cross reference other people's accounts?

What sort of perverted pseudo-stasi games is he playing? Will they be installing these cameras at other mass gathering events and asking trying to identify all the people in the crowd cross matching to Facebook?

Inexplicably, there are (unless they're fakes) hundreds of people who have already been cross referenced.

Astonishing. :ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

In Street Level View, haven't Google Maps gone to the trouble not only of blanking out people's faces but blanking out car registration plates too?

IMO this move represents an intrusion of privacy or some such indignant humbuggery.

There's a simple solution to this. Everyone in the Sun's photo changes their FaceBook photo to that of Agent Murdoch.

I checked of a few of the tags and they all link to facebook accounts that seem to be correct and genuine which means that they must be continually monitoring the tags as there is doubtless many people just putting in nonsense tags.

On the surface it seems just like a hook up with Facebook and The Sun to generate a few more hits on their websites. But there is certainly scope for it to be used for compiling a database containing facebook accounts especially at an event such as this where many would have provided details to buy the tickets which can then be cross-referenced to their seating position.

Wonder how many more of these large 'tag yourself and your mates' photos will start appearing?

I thought Murdoch owned myspace , not facebook.

Hopefully he buys facebook and runs that into the ground as well.
