Olympic Ticket Chaos

Recommended Posts

First to post a real story of someone having been plunged into incredible debt just to go and see the sport gets a prize.

The guy touting his story round about having applied for £36000 worth of tickets is silly. He reckons that if he goes over his limit on his card he'll get none...

norra clue. Wouldn't that mean they'd have to pre-auth the whole amount?

The guy on the radio is a debt councillor (so is doing it to make a point)

No it is the ticket buyer's responsibility to make sure the payment will go through (no pre auth).

If the payment doesn't clear they get no tickets.

So if he got everything applied for he admitted the payment wouldn't clear but as he had gone for lots of opening / closing ceremony and 100m tickets which have been massively over subscribed he reckoned the probability of getting any of those tickets was small. He wanted a few tickets for less popular events which he expects to get.
