Mobile Phones And Wi-Fi 'should Be Banned From Schools As They Are Potentially Harmful'

Wireless devices 'can cause cancer and affect developing brains'

Mobiles 'might have cognitive effects and impact on sleep' says professor leading separate study

An influential European body has warned that mobile phones and wi-fi Internet connection should be banned from schools as they are 'potentially harmful' to pupils.

A committee set up by the Council of Europe, which has 47 member states, has released a report which believes that it is crucial to tackle the issue now before it's too late, as was the case with smoking, lead in petrol and asbestos.

In addition, the detailed report from the Strasbourg-based organisation underlines the potential health risks that cordless telephones and baby monitors provide.

Both rely on similar technology to mobile phones and wi-fi, and are commonly found in homes across Britain.

Admit it how many of you are killing your own children with a wifi network, plus you may also be killing your neighbours children (I have no idea if that would be good for society or not, I'll let you decide).

Having used wifi for quite a while I had been a little disappointed that there had been no scare stories as there have been with mobile phones, now my disappointment is over, wifi is going to kill us all and is no doubt allowing the govt to send subliminal messages to us all.

No wonder Dominique couldn't resist the maid.

selective journalism.

I'm more concerned over the affects Fukushima will have on my baby and toddler. I do believe all this wi-fi and gprs stuff interferes with our brains function and cognitive learning.

Short of living in a lead-lined pavilion, what's the point worrying? A quick scan shows at least 6 networks near me, so turning mine off each night is a moot point.

I do agree that I am finding it harder to concentrate since installing wi-fi, but that could just be because I am now masturbating five times a day to Romanian donkey porn.

I live 5 minutes from power lines, round the corner from a mobile phone mast and every house in this road has wifi plus a mobile probably - how harmful is that? A friend of mine pays £1500 a month for a house and it's over the road from a mobile phone mast.

and affect developing brains

Not much danger of that in a modern school surely?

Used to make me laugh that parents would protest about a mobile phone mast but be unconcerned about a transmitter placed less than an inch from the brain.

For god's sake, don't mention killing your own children.

I'm all for it. never mind the tinfoil hat paranoia, mobile phones DO pollute the place because they turn people into instant retards that loudly talk to themselves.

One of my lecturers hated them so much, at the beginning of his course, he smashed one into smitherens with a hurling bat and showered the first rows with debris.

Whilst this was an obvious joke, it also was the only bingly-beep free lecture course... more proof that violence reaches the parts polite reasoning doesn't... ;-D

If power lines cause cancer, then a group most of at risk would of course be power line workers. I heard of a study that showed they had below average incidence of cancer.
