Is There Anything Cheaper For Sale?

Recommended Posts

It would make a great character house, but obviously a gamble with respect to planning permission for a dwelling etc.

Also, at auction, so will probably sell for a much higher price. Builders will be after this.

It spent a year at least on for 22K. No takers then.

Decor inside looks a bit dated

if it's not already a dwelling would a change of use thing need to specify what the exact plan was for renovation? I'm just wondering if it would even be legal to buy it, sweep it out and just live in it like someone from the 19th century. Quite tempted. It's looks the right neighbourhood to do it.

In other words is it now Law that you have to do the full Kevin McCloud

There's a big hole in the roof? The second photo shows light coming in.

It might be better to pitch a tent inside and live in that.

There's what looks like a pile of sand on the 2nd picture, and a blue plastic sheet. Someone must have already tried to make some repairs and gave up.

There's also a graveyard next door, and a river close by.

You would live a wretched 19th century existence with a life expectancy of about 40, if you're lucky. Utterly horrid. That flat is equally as bad too.

Plus, you'd have no friends nearby to visit, and you'd live in fear of the horsemen coming riding over the hill to pillage and plunder. Thanks but no thanks.

Nothing that a few twigs in a vase wouldn't rectify. Actually, you could grow the twigs in situ, no vase required.

Oh I forgot about that. I've changed my mind - I'm gonna put all my belongings on eBay and buy that place. :P

Yep, you are correct. The map from the original link is about a mile off the actual position.

So that's £10k for roughly 300 sqft of land and a derelict building (no electricity or running water) next to a busy countryside road

And the advert says "Under offer"

Actually worse than you think.

SAD really these were the cheap and cheerful starter homes in previous decades. Now bombed by BTLrs and filthy HPI manipulators coming north. Thankfully some of them have had their fingers truly burnt. Not enough though.

The decimation left is probably there to stay till clearance.

Scary place to live if you have no choice. If you can't beat them join them is the by word. Local camouflage needed.
