Donald Trump Wants Tariffs On Chinese Products

Recommended Posts

2012 will be an interesting year if this guy makes it to the White house.

a few snippets

"China is taking unfair advantage of the United States and other countries by a total manipulation of their currency"

"If I'm in office, and I decide to run and win, within one day they're gonna be told if you keep manipulating your currency, we're gonna tax you 25%"

"We have all the cards, because if we pulled back on China.....China has got a big problem and just remember what I said.....We have all the cards. They don't have the cards, they have a trillion dollars in debt"

Apparently the China problem can be solved easily.

Trump is an idiot.

How many times has this tosser and his casinos gone bankrupt?

Yeah. Real good choice to lead a country, so impartial and understanding of the needs of everyday people....

He's right but he's using the wrong language. They need to manage trade with China, before it's too late. Better to bring in gradual change now than knee jerk ad hoc changes later. Glad Trump has brought this to the fore.

someone should also tell trump that import tax means that he will be taxing american companies 25%, not china. nearly every american business and household will be affected.

I hope he runs for president imagine the money that will go into his campaign. Anyhow what better quals do you need than the ability to bankrupt a casino. I'm off to the bookies in the morning for a speculative punt :D

Slash income taxes and massively raise sales taxes - levels the playing field and improves internal comparative labour costs. Might push customers to purchase a little more wisely than buy cheap throwaway crap if they have to pay more heavily for it too.

Don't sales taxes penalise the poorer more because they spend most of their disposable income (therefore paying more of a percentage of that income in sales tax) whereas the rich invest most of their income?

You'd really have to slash low end income tax, enough to offset reasonable expenditure. Some items say food you'd have sales tax exempt. Income tax reductions would tail off up the income scale. It may put pressure on the state dependents to go out to worka bit but there would be more incentive to do so with low tax alevels and more opportunity with the comparatively cheaper labour costs you just created with these tax changes.

In isolation...yes, but Sweden has sales taxes of 25%, whereas many southern US states have low single figure sales tax rates. People regard Sweden as far less inequal than southern US states.

I know i've been hurt a lot more by liebour inflation than tory +2.5% VAT, put it that way.

and anyway, basics which consume most of the poors income like food and clothes are VAT exempt AFAIK.

Liebour know this really, its why they never reversed the VAT increases of the 80s and 90s, doesnt stop them being disingenous and taking cheap shots regardless.

Anyway, Trump seems to be making himself as unelectable to the NWO-OWG elite as possible. Why, im not sure? Is he a plant, maybe.

Donald T for prez? Surely not :o

His haircut will put off any investors!

Even the smell of his policy will stop China buying USA debt...then what..the biggest gold rush you ever saw? The real depression that an electronic credit of a central bank printing press has so far kept away from the Western world?
